1531 Presumed portrait of Margherita Paleologo, Duchess of Mantua by Giulio Romano (Royal Collection)

Her Italian-language Wikipedia article is here.

This is a fascinating dress! It appears to consist of a black-and-silver or black-and-white pretzel-pattern overlay of  a tan or off-shite under-garment, possibly the one providing her partlet. Her sleeves are gargantuan virago (accordion) sleeves covering banded under-sleeves. Her over-garment has a wrap around bateau neckline.
