ca. 1610 Anne of Denmark by Hilliard (Fitzwilliam Museum - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire UK)

Anne of denmark displays her charms wearing a dress with a scoop décolletage in this Hilliard portrait.

Nicolas Hilliard's career as a portraitist and miniaturist spanned two centuries.

She appears to be wearing either sapphire or jet jewelry - something dark. A jeweled band, like a military Sam Browne belt in later years, crosses her trunk. Her gown has tabbed sleeves with the sleeves being repeatedly slashed and each tab having a slash. Her coiffure, decorated with bows, is frizzy. A button may be showing between her hand and the jeweled band.
