ca. 1585 Ashbourne Charter by Nicholas Hilliard (Queen Elizabeth's Grammer School, Ashbourne)

Here is another image of Queen Elizabeth of England wearing robes with regalia like the Poor Knights image.

The site dates this to 15 September 1585.

She is relying on slashing and/or puffs of white fabric to decorate her sleeves and the under-skirt of her gown. She is not wearing much jewelry - for her. Her crown replaces one of her spectacular headdresses. The red-and-gold brocade lining of her skirt is turned out for effect.
