This shows a tabbed bodice edge and how the wheel was canted so the back was higher than the front, compelling a deep vee waistline. The tabbed bodice as well as the lace and detail of the fabric are shown beautifully here. The bodice fit over the pleated wheel that sat at an angle atop the rest of the farthingale. The bodice is plainly separate from the skirt.
