Hon. Mary Florence Baring was born on 26 June 1860. She married William George Spencer Scott Compton, 5th Marquess of Northampton, son of Admiral William Compton, 4th Marquess of Northampton and Eliza Elliot, on 30 April 1884. She died on 1 June 1902 at age 41.
She was the daughter of William Bingham Baring, 2nd Baron Ashburton and Louisa Caroline Mackenzie. Her married name became Compton.
