Marchioness Victoria's dress appears to have a matching bodice and draped tablier over a vertically-striped under-skirt. The Marchioness' dress has a substantial bustle. A substantial bustle also protrudes behind Princess Beatrice in this photo also dating it to the second bustle era in the middle. Little Alice was born in 1885. Beatrice's simple dress has a draped skirt. The surprise is the usually serious Queen Victoria looks happy and wears an interesting, though out-of-date, dress.
